When we opened the Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer we got really surprised about how tiny and light it is. Tiny but not at all fragile, specially with its protective cover. It just feels really well made and good quality.
The Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer is approved for Oral, Armpit and Rectal measurements, with its light weight being ideal for both the Oral and Armpit measurements.
Not surprisingly it also has a soft and flexible tip, which is ideal specially for Rectal measurements.
Speed and Accuracy
Not counting the calibration process, that is well explained on the manual, the Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer is a really fast digital thermometer like the name suggests, taking measurements in 10 seconds.
As for the accuracy, it has a maximum margin of error or 0.2ºF, but for our tests it was spot on. Also plenty of medical practitioners have been using this precise model and give it really good reviews with regards to its accuracy. It is accurate, rest assured!
The display on the Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer is small, as it is expected, but performs really well, and the manufacturer managed to make the most of the space available. The LCD shows measurements with 1 decimal point, and also has a battery indicator on the LCD to let the user know that it needs to have its battery replaced.
When measurements are too low (bellow 90ºF) or too high (above 109.9ºF) it displays a “LO” or “HI” signal to let the user know a measurement should be retaken.
This thermometer has no connectivity features.
The Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer makes some beeps, with a really low volume. When it is turned ON or OFF it will give out a small beep. When a measurement is taken, it will beep for about 10 seconds. It is not too loud and not too uncomfortable, but if you are used to an Infrared Thermometer which has configurable sound settings, this can be a surprise. Then again, this thermometer doesn’t really serve the same purpose as an Infrared Thermometer, as this one obviously needs contact.
The Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer comes with a small tight fit transparent protective case, which is nice. If is not so much a storage case as it is in fact a protective case that will allow a medical professional to carry it around in the pocket without too much weight and bulge.
If left unattended for 10 minutes, the Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer will shutdown automatically, helping to prolong the battery life. According to the manufacturer each battery should last for 200 hours, and the thermometer taking only 10 seconds to take a measurement it should last for quite some time. We never saw the battery indicator during our tests.
The Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer comes with a really easy to understand manual that explains pretty much everything you need to know. From the process of taking measurements in different body locations, expected normal readings, to the configuration and calibration process. It is small but really well written and complete.
Another thing to point out is the service support. We had some doubts we wanted to clarify and got in touch using email. The response time was extremely fast, the support person was amazingly helpful and polite. We were really really impressed with the level of support given to a such inexpensive item.
We were really pleased with the Enji Happy Care Digital 10 Seconds Thermometer. It really does do what it says on the box : fast and accurate readings. It is small but not fragile and has a really good quality feel to it. It is really easy to use and easy to setup, like for example to change the units and the service support is spectacular.
The only downside we saw was the sound not being mutable, which in all fairness is not really that big of a deal, as the volume is really so low, and for armpit measurements it would simply be impractical to have such a feature. So, we didn’t really put this in the Cons section.
